An inside look at the evening that this little blog helped me win Influential Blogger of the Year 2019 at the Liverpool Influencer Awards.
I enlisted the help of my beautiful make up artist, turned-friend, Liv who managed to work miracles and made my very dry and spotty face look good for the event. I also got a (well-needed) curly blow-dry from the girls over at Glitter Hair Salon in Liverpool. I’m a hugeeee fan of a blazer dress so was so excited to wear this from ASOS. I coupled it with a clutch bag I bought from New Look in 2010, but so glad I kept as leopard print is back in! My shoes were from ALDO and I have flipper-feet so always get their wide fit stilettos because they are so much comfier.
The event was held at Chaophraya in Liverpool and was hosted by Liverpool Urban Hair Show Ltd. Welcome drinks were held in Thaikun Street Bar and I had the most amazing frozen cocktail that tasted like a drinking a melted Solero!!
I took my friend, Lauren and boyfriend Dan along for some support, I needed it! Just look how nervous I was walking in…
The food was absolutely delicious, I love Thai food anyway, but honestly I will be back again!
After dinner they announced the awards, my category was up first and I was super nervous! When they read out my name, I couldn’t believe it. How could talking about the challenges and triumphs of life in your twenties online land me with an award?! I still don’t get it, but I’m super pleased.
There were so many other amazing people at the event… influential hairdressers, make up artists, training salons and fashion designers. To be named amongst these talented people is truly something special. Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me, I promise there are lots of exciting things to come!
